Journalist Ben Jacobs has now detailed what Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal think about signing Mohamed Salah from Liverpool next year.

The Egyptian winger has been a big target for the Middle Eastern state ever since their major leap into football this summer, with Salah likely to make the move to Saudi Arabia in 2024 according to reports.

And speaking to GiveMeSport, transfer insider Jacobs has now detailed what Al-Hilal could do next year in their pursuit to sign Salah, with Al-Ittihad coming close to bringing the forward to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

Jacobs said: “I’m told that Al-Hilal is also a possibility, and they have always had Salah on their list. It went one Messi, but they didn’t get him, and two Neymar, but unfortunately, he got injured, and Salah was third on the Al-Hilal list.

“So, by the time we get to next summer, the Saudis may return for Salah, but the club may have changed. It’s too early to tell because people like to talk about Liverpool as if, somehow, they’re in crisis, which is far from the truth.

“After all, Liverpool always have a plan. Liverpool are always planning multiple windows and are always calm about the situation.”

Liverpool could be powerless in Mohamed Salah joining Al-Hilal

Salah leaving Liverpool seems like a foregone conclusion for next summer, with Al-Hilal seemingly the favourites for the Anfield superstar.

The attacker was close to leaving Merseyside this year as Liverpool did well to reject a club-record transfer offer for Salah from Al-Ittihad.

Yet going into next year, the Reds could now be powerless in trying to keep hold of Salah, who already looks set on a move to Saudi Arabia as Al-Hilal’s interest intensifies.

Indeed, if Liverpool can entertain another £100m+ offer for the winger, losing Salah could be made more manageable, yet it still won’t make it any less difficult for the Premier League side.
