Michael Owen has lauded Jurgen Klopp after he celebrated eight years at Liverpool.

The former striker stated that Jurgen Klopp has ‘changed everything’ at Liverpool after winning every major trophy possible.

From that night in Madrid to being the last team to stop the all-dominant Manchester City, it has been ‘absolutely incredible’ what the German has done at Liverpool, according to Micheal Owen, as he told Premier League Productions (08/10/23 at 1:40 pm).

Whether it’s at the end of the season, or in the prayers of Liverpool fans, after another eight years, whenever their manager departs, he will go down in the club’s legendary books – Cesc Fabregas also lauded Liverpool’s £300k-a-week man.

As of today, it’s all about building this Liverpool 2.0 and trying to push this new-look team to another trophy run.

But from what Jurgen Klopp has already done on Merseyside, to someone like Michael Owen, he has ‘changed everything’.

Jurgen Klopp’s eight years at Liverpool

“Incredible, absolutely incredible what he has done,” said Owen. “How he has galvanised the whole city.

“There were shoots of optimism before he took over. Brendan Rodgers was very close to winning that Premier League title which the Liverpool fans wanted so much.

“But Jurgen Klopp has come in and changed everything. Changed the outlook. Changed everything. He has won the lot. The Europa League is the only one. He lost the final and he is in it this year. And they are favourites to win it.

“By the time he finishes, then he might have won absolutely everything and put the club back on the map where they belong.”

The next chapter

It has been a mixed start to the season for the team. On the one hand, it’s far better than what was produced during the previous campaign and only three points separate top spot.

The chances are being created and the goals are flowing in with ease, even when the team is down to ten men.

But the defence is yet to come to the party, with more mistakes yet again on Sunday at Brighton.

Liverpool have only kept one clean sheet in the Premier League, with Gary Neville stating that they are a Declan Rice-esque player away from winning the title.
