Caoimhin Kelleher is set to return between the sticks for Liverpool’s upcoming games with Alisson Becker out on the sideline due to a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international is one of the Premier League’s best backup goalkeepers, with Jurgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders both huge fans of Kelleher’s qualities.

Indeed, there’s no denying that the Liverpool no. 2 is better than just sitting on the bench, yet these upcoming games could now help Kelleher secure that move the keeper has always been dreaming about.

Having failed to win a move this summer to a top club, Kelleher will be itching to show the world what he is capable of in this run of games, starting tonight against LASK at Anfield.

Whilst the youngster has already impressed in Europe this season, it will be Fulham’s trip to Sunday that will be on Kelleher’s mind, with the Premier League the biggest stage the shot-stopper can currently perform on.

And heading into 2024, Kelleher will want as many eyeballs as possible on him, with the goalkeeper now fully aware that he needs to secure a transfer next summer that could bank Liverpool millions.

Summer sale could help Liverpool massively next year

Whilst it feels like the recent summer transfer window has only just closed, Liverpool’s recruitment team will already be fully focused on next year’s market.

And although the potential sale of Mohamed Salah should raise enough capital to spend big in the window, selling Kelleher could also be hugely beneficial.

With the Irish international an academy product, any sale will result in straight profit for Liverpool, helping the Reds meet FFP regulations as well as having enough in the bank to sign a replacement.

Indeed, selling Kelleher will be bittersweet next year, and yet if the 24-year-old can impress in his upcoming games, Liverpool could be for a major payday in the summer.
