Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested that Liverpool should sign Antonee Robinson after Fulham’s 4-3 loss against the Reds.

The USA international was arguably the Cottagers’ best player on the day as Robinson assisted Harry Wilson in the opening half whilst also keeping Mohamed Salah quiet down Liverpool’s right flank.

A former Everton academy product, Robinson has developed into an efficient left-back at Fulham and a consistent performer in the Premier League, with Marco Silva taking the 26-year-old’s game to a new level.

And speaking on the Hard Truth podcast, Peterborough chairman and Liverpool fan MacAnthony has suggested that the Reds should make a move for Robinson.

The League One official said about the USA defender after Liverpool’s 4-3 win against Fulham: “I tell you one thing, the Fulham left-back has been superb.

“I wouldn’t mind him as Liverpool do need a left-back in the next couple of windows. His pace, the way he handled Salah today, he’s a proper young player that Antonee Robinson.”

Whilst Robinson isn’t as young as some might think, there’s no doubt that the Milton Keynes-born fullback is quite the player in the Premier League.

And for Liverpool, the Fulham man could be a great signing if they’re to look for a new backup for Andy Robertson or even a successor for the Scotland international.

Indeed, Robinson has proven that he is just as good defending as he is going forward, and this could be an appealing asset for Liverpool.

Whether or not a move would even happen is another story entirely, yet Liverpool should be keeping tabs on Robinson as they prepare to build their squad for the future.
